Deer Valley High School
Class of 1985
Fri. A.M. - Homecoming Parade

DEER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL'S 37TH ANNUAL HOMECOMING PARADE
WHAT:
If you are truly a fan of Deer Valley High School, you MUST witness or be a part of the growing, and ever-popular, annual Homecoming Parade. The Class of 1985 will be decorating a flatbed trailer, and Jerry Thompson's 'Old Yeller" truck will be slowly pulling it. We'll ATTEMPT to pull off the float, but maybe "Save Ferris" or "Bueller? Bueller?" T-shirts instead of Oktoberfest girls outfits! We'll have a few riding in back of the pick-up; a few in costume and character on the flatbed lip-syncing to "Shake It Up Babyl," and any others that can make it, we're walking the 1/2-3/4mile route handing out Blue & Silver spirit beads and candy to the (6) Elementary Schools and (2) Jr. High feeder schools that line the parade route. Hundreds of children and local neighborhoods grab their seats early. Local news channels often cover it (see news piece below).
HELP NEEDED!!!
We'll need help creating the Flatbed Float, and handing out goodies to the kids. Contact one of us below if you'd like to help at the Float Party, or just be there to join in at the parade.
WHEN:
Friday, October 10th, (8:30am gather to stage), and 9:30am (parade start)
WHERE:
We'll most likely park and meet along 47th Avenue or the Bellair Golf Club parking lot. We'll leave a few cars at the high school to shuttle us back to our cars. The parade route begins at 47th Avenue and Grovers, and will head 1/2 mile west; then turn north onto 51st Avenue for a 1/4 mile; then left into the high school.
